VEGAN DINNER AMSTERDAM
An overview of nice vegan hotspots for a great dinner in Amsterdam
In Amsterdam you can now find a vegan restaurant on almost every street corner. If you could only choose from a handful of spots a few years ago, there are now so many locations where you can sit down for a plate of vegetable treats that it’s hard to choose. Whether you are a convinced vegan or just want to eat vegan every once in a while: we have looked for the finest vegan addresses in Amsterdam for you. Looking for a nice place in Amsterdam to have a great vegan dinner. Our overview below will help you have a great vegan dining experience:
SPAGHETTERIA
Spaghetteria is always a good move. You always have the choice of six different (and changing) pastas, two of which are vega, two with fish and two with meat. Big plus: all pastas can be ordered in a gluten-free version.
RADISH
Radijs is a cozy place where you can find tasty vegetarian food in Amsterdam for a nice budget. The (vega) burger is famous, but also the other dishes are a must.
MANAMANA
If there is one place where you can eat surprisingly as a vegetarian, it is Manamana. Vegetables play a very important role in this Israeli business in Amsterdam Zuid and its versatility is praised. And if your friends happened to be real meat eaters: do not be alarmed, they are also thought of!
Golden Temple
The vegetarian oasis in the Utrechtsestraat is named after an Indian temple where thousands of people can get a vegetarian meal every day for free. The kitchen is therefore predominantly Indian or a menu with lentil soup dahl), but also makes exotic trips. There are also Mexican tortilla and Tuscan risotto on the menu.
Cafe De Ceuvel
Only vegetarian snacks are served in café De Ceuvel. The café of the cultural incubator has a small menu, with a daily changing meal. Fixed mouths include spicy pumpkin soup, bitterballen full of oyster mushrooms and the mischievous sounding ‘Rösti & Shiitake party’; a palette full of mushrooms and forgotten vegetables with pumpkin gravy.
De Waaghals
De Waaghals has been a well known vegetarian place in the rest of Amsterdam for over thirty years. The menu changes every two weeks and gives the visitor the choice between “classic dishes and more daring combinations”. Think of a quiche of ratatouille and goat brie versus stir-fried noodles with tempeh croutons and ginger-hoisin sauce.
TerraZen Centre
With a delicious fusion of Caribbean and Asian tastes, TerraZen will take you to the gates of vegan heaven! Being only 6 minutes of walking distance from central station, TerraZen is the perfect place to enjoy a healthy dinner. Vegan gyozas, noodles, spring rolls and platters are just some of the many succulent dishes you can find. Isn’t great to meet new vegans who share your passion for healthy food? Well, at TerraZen there is only one huge table, which makes a great environment full of friendly new people waiting for you to join!
