As veganism is growing ever more popular, it doesn’t surprise us that celebrities are also turning to a more plant based lifestyle and boy, do we love it! Seeing people with such a wide reach promoting veganism surely warms our heart. So without further ado, let us go into the list of five celebrities you didn’t know were vegan!


James Cameron 

The director, famous for movies such as Titanic and Avatar, has been outspoken in his support of the vegan lifestyle. Stating, for example that we need a meatless world in 20 years. He’s been vegan since 2011 and has stated the health benefits multiple times. Truly inspiring for all of us and let’s hope he keeps up the good work!


Ariana Grande

Perhaps one of the most well-known vegan celebrities, Grande has now been vegan for about six years. In 2013, she stated on her twitter:

‘I’ve eaten organically since I was little and always kept meat minimal but today marks my first day as a 100% Vegan!!!! Joyous day’

She says that while health definitely played a role in her making this decision, it was ultimately her love for animals which pushed her to really commit to a plant-based lifestyle.

Miley Cyrus

Another outspoken vegan celebrity is Miley Cyrus, who keeps it no secret  that she’s vegan and loving it. The former Hannah Montana star has been working closely with several design houses to promote eco materials for clothing, such as vegan leather and urges everyone to buy vintage items for increased sustainability. About being vegan, Miley says: “Be the voice of those who can’t say ‘stop’, who can’t say ‘that hurts’, who can’t say ‘I’m so afraid to die.’ Be the voice of animals!”



Benedict Cumberbatch

Voted as PETA’s most beautiful vegan of 2018, the actor best known for Sherlock has also been vegan for several years now.  He’s mentioned in several interviews that he eats a vegan diet and even appeared on a 2016 cover of British GQ wearing vegan boots and a suit from Brave GentleMan (the world’s first all-vegan luxury menswear



Venus Williams

Last but not least, our final vegan celebrity is none other than world renowned tennis player Venus Williams.  Williams first adopted a vegan diet several years ago, after being diagnosed with Sjögren’s syndrome, an autoimmune disease which causes extreme fatigue.  ‘Once I started I fell in love with the concept of fueling your body in the best way possible.’, she said in an interview with Health while discussing her vegan diet.
